Q 25. What factors must be considered, while comparing prices of 2 proposals for towers ?

Ans: Weight : Weight of material indicates actual ultimate structural capacity of tower. If the material of construction is different for 2 proposals then " DK Factor" should be considered. DK Factor is defined as Total Weight of tower/ yield strength of material used. Higher the DK factor , higher the structural capacity of tower proposed. If proposed tower consists of 2 grades of materials then DK factor should be calculated for each grade separately and then sum of DK Factors should be considered for that proposal. DK Factor gives a clear measure of structural capacity buyer gets from a proposed tower. Other accessories included with tower: These accessories will add to weight and cost.

Accessories could be Platforms : Working platforms could be in tons of steel. Sizes of platforms should be compared.
